About Yuba Expeditions

Bike shop, trail steward, shuttle to Mt. Hough and general good times.

Yuba Expeditions is located in Quincy, California and provides a professional, safe and reliable shuttle service to Mt. Hough’s finest high-mountain trails, including: the Mt. Hough Trail, Berry Creek and Indian Falls Ridge.

Ride

Since 1991 when it was originally known as the Coyote Adventure Company, today Yuba Expeditions is a bike shop and shuttle service that sends every dollar of profit back to the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS). More than 10,000 adventure seekers walk through Yuba's door every year, and each person who spends their money with Yuba helps fund all the amazing trails that get built in the Lost Sierra while employing nearly a dozen Sierra and Plumas County residents. The money you spend with Yuba and other local businesses help our community transform from a logging and mining economy to a sustainable and vibrant recreation-based economy.

Race

Another critical means of fundraising for trail projects is through participation in our three world-class events: the Downieville Classic, and the Lost and Found Gravel Ride near Portola Each event showcases a unique region of the Lost Sierra, and both towns benefit economically through event participation. These events are far more than just a bike race; they are family-friendly weekend experiences with friends away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Most important, a portion of your registration goes to maintaining existing trails while helping fund new trails like Mills Peak Trail in Graeagle and Mount Hough Trail in Quincy.

Lend a Hand

The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) exists for a single purpose: to build and maintain world-class multi-use trails. This mission is carried out through a local full-time trail crew, funded with federal, state and local grants that require matched funding from SBTS. But without our dedicated family of volunteers who log more than 5,000 hours of trail work per year, the SBTS wouldn't be able to create all the trail magic you ride today. New trails like Mount Hough deliver a dozen miles and 3,800 vertical feet of world-class single track. Trails like Mount Hough simply aren't being built in America anymore, but the SBTS is making it happen in the Lost Sierra through fostering relationships and assembling a family of likeminded folk. So if you believe in what the SBTS is doing, ask about volunteering at our Trail Daze and become a supporting member of the SBTS. Because without our volunteers and core members, there would be no grants, there would be no SBTS and there would be no trail magic in the Lost Sierra.
